It is our pleasure to have your group visit SFMOMA. Discover art across seven gallery floors and explore special exhibitions. Take advantage of the various dining experiences we provide to enhance your visit.

A group visit consists of 10 or more people. To qualify for a group discount, you must book at least 10 paid tickets.

Private Guided Tours

Are you looking for an engaging and memorable experience for off-site team building, a reunion with family and friends, or a fun activity for your trip to San Francisco?

We are pleased to offer the following private guided tour.

To book your group visit and private tour, please complete the Private Tour Request Form.

  • Tours are available for groups of 10–20 people for the Icons of Modern Art tours. For larger groups, additional fees may apply for multiple tour guides.
  • Tours are approximately 60 minutes.
  • Tours are available during open hours on weekdays with start times between 10:30–11:30 a.m. and 1:30–3 p.m. (Monday, Tuesday, Friday) and 12:30–1:30 p.m. and 3–5:30 p.m. (Thursday).
  • Tours must be booked three weeks in advance. Your reservation is not complete until payment has been processed.
  • There is a $250 guide fee for private tours, plus the cost of general admission tickets.

Meet Our Private Tour Guides

Marina Bianchi

With an MA in contemporary art history and over a decade of museum and gallery experience, Marina Bianchi explores the intersections of visual art, language, and technology. Her tours are lively, thoughtful, and filled with sharp insights and memorable anecdotes, drawing from a wide-ranging practice in curation, education, and a lifelong commitment to the arts.

Cornelia (Conny) Bleul-Gohkle

Dr. Cornelia (Conny) Bleul-Gohlke, a native West-Berliner, artist, curator, and educator, offers a unique perspective on art. With a PhD from the Free University Berlin and degrees from USF and NYU, she leads fascinating tours through the museum, introducing art from fresh angles and sharing entertaining facts.

Emma Krasov

Emma Krasov has worked as a private guide for SFMOMA since 2003. She is a professional art and lifestyle journalist with a portfolio of prominent national publications, like Where Magazine, Haute Living, Bay Area Reporter, Silicon Valley newspapers, and others. Participants characterize her tours as informative, engaging, enthusiastic, and fun, making every art piece come alive.

Jennifer (Jen) Tesoro Reese

Take a deeper look at art with Jennifer (Jen) Tesoro Reese, who invites participants to slow down, look closely, and connect personally with works of art. Through thought-provoking questions and a lively group discussion, she encourages reflection and dialogue that deepens understanding and sparks curiosity. Formerly a museum educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for over 22 years, she has worked at SFMOMA as a private guide since 2016.

Laurel Shear

Artist and educator Laurel Shear loves sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for art with others. She holds an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin and currently teaches high school art history. Laurel brings her experience as a painter and sensitivity to the process of art making into each of her tours.
